Some very kind words

What an absolute delight to meet this wonderful lady, who officiated at my aunts funeral, Pamela Rumsey recently. July 2024.

My cousin and his wife organised having Sylvia to conduct the service, and before I even met her, they were commenting how the had found this lovely Celebrant, who was Scottish,(as I am!) They we’re extremely pleased with everything Sylvia did prior to the day of the funeral, and afterwards too.

From the moment I was introduced to Sylvia, I was intrigued to find out more after hearing that she had had a career similar to myself. Sylvia had an air of calmness, friendliness, and a caring attitude.

The 3 sons, and 2 grandsons  of Pamela’s, were to be giving tributes to their Mum and Grandma, and were invited into the crematorium to have a trial run. I had heard them recite their tributes before hand, and felt slightly nervous for them, and their emotional states. However, I need not have worried as Sylvia “coached” them in a quiet encouraging way, and they benefitted greatly from her expertise.

Sylvia conducted the ceremony in a very caring and respectful manner, sensitive to peoples emotions,  giving time to reflect and grieve.

Sylvia portrayed everything about Pamela as if she knew her, and that meant a lot to the family. She delivered a very personalised ceremony to celebrate the lovely person Pamela was and how she lived a long and happy life.

I have no hesitation in recommending Sylvia as a Celebrant, it was a real pleasure to meet someone  who went above and beyond to make a sad day, a very memorable one.

Thank you Sylvia, I wish you every success in the future, and would absolutely remember that most special day.

Kindest regards,

Marilyn MacDougall
